How these numbers are worked out

Times and coverage come from NASA/GSFC polynomial Besselian elements for this eclipse, evaluated for your exact latitude, longitude and ground height, the same method used for published eclipse tables. Contact times are found by bisection on the observer's distance from the penumbral edge; maximum by golden-section search. ΔT is taken as 69 s and clock times are shown in British / Irish Summer Time (UT+1).

Horizon angles are measured from the same Terrarium elevation data that builds the 3D terrain, sampled out to 60 km along each bearing with a correction for the curvature of the earth and atmospheric refraction.
